HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween! This week we worked and learned about Halloween.  On Thursday we also had our own Halloween party at school. We dressed up, we went to say "trick or treat" class to class, Berta, the witch came to visit us, we danced, sang ... and ate a lot of sweets! We uploaded on the blog some pictures from the party of 1st and 2nd grade. We uploaded one of the songs we've learned this week too.

Happy Halloween!!! Esta semana hemos trabajado y aprendido sobre Halloween. Además, el jueves celebramos nuestra fiesta de Halloween en el colegio. Nos disfrazamos, fuimos a decir "truco o trato" por las clases, vino la bruja Berta a vernos, bailamos, cantamos... y comimos un montón de chuches!!! Subimos al blog algunas fotos de la fiesta de 1º y 2º  de primaria. También subimos una de las canciones que hemos aprendido esta semana. 

ST. GEORGE. CASTLES, KNIGHTS AND DRAGONS

During the last two weeks we have developed an Etwinning project with other European schools from Scotland, Slovenia and Poland. The title of the project was "St. George. Castles, Knights and Dragons". We uploaded on the blog some of the photos of the project.

 

Durante las dos últimas semanas hemos desarrollado un proyecto Etwinning con otros colegios europeos, de Escocia, Eslovenia y Polonia. El título del proyecto ha sido "St. George. Castles, Knights and Dragons". Subimos al blog algunas de las fotos del proyecto.

ST. PATRICK DAY

This week we worked on St. Patrick, an Irish traditional festival celebrated on March 17. Throughout the week we learned vocabulary adn Irish traditions, we learned and sang songs , and we developed several workshops. We uploaded on the blog a summary in pictures of our St. Patrick celebration.

Esta semana hemos trabajado sobre St. Patrick, una fiesta tradicional Irlandesa que se celebra el 17 de marzo. A lo largo de la semana hemos aprendido vocabulario relacionado, hemos conocido tradiciones irlandesas, hemos aprendido canciones, y hemos realizado diferentes talleres. Os subimos al blog un resumen en imágenes de nuestra celebración de St. Patrick.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

Next week we are going to the theatre to see the play "Little Red Riding Hood" in English. Sure that all children know the story in Spanish, so we uploaded on the blog a videoa with English history. Children can watch it to become familiar with some words and expressions.

La próxima semana iremos al teatro a ver la obra "Caperucita Roja" en Inglés. Seguro que todos los niños conocen la historia en español, así que subimos al blog un video con la historia en Inglés, para que los niños se vayan familiarizando con algunas palabras y expresiones.

ANIMALS SAYINGS

As we will start this term The Animals didactic unit, we will learn some rhymed animal sayings and chunks in English to greet us when we come to class and say goodbye when we return home. The sayings will be sticked on the both sides of the classroom door, so children can read and remember to use them. You can also download the files with the sentences. Sure it's fun for the whole family to use and practice them at home.

Aprovechando que este trimestre comenzamos la unidad didáctica de Los Animales, vamos a aprender algunas frases hechas y rimadas (relacionadas con los animales) en Inglés, para saludarnos cuando llegamos a clase y despedirnos cuando volvemos a casa. Las frases estarán pegadas a ambos lados de la puerta del aula, para que los alumnos puedan leerlas y acordarse de utilizarlas. También podéis descargaros los archivos con las frases. Seguro que es divertido para toda la familia practicarlas y ulitizarlas en casa.

LANGUAGE FOR THE CLASSROOM

This term we will speak more English in class, and one of the ways to achieve it is to learn and use short sentences phrases and everyday expressions we use in the classroom. The sentences will be sticked on the walls of the classroom so children can read and remember to use them. You can download the attached files with the sentences to colour them and practice at home.

Este trimestre vamos a hablar más en Inglés en clase, y una de las maneras de hacerlos es aprender y utilizar pequeñas frases y expresiones cotidianas que usamos en el aula. Las frases estarán pegadas en las paredes del aula para que los niños puedan leerlas y se acuerden de utilizarlas. Podéis descargaros los archivos con las frases para colorear y practicar en casa.

CHRISTMAS CRACKERS

Last week we did a Christmas workshop with the oldest students of the school (4ºESO). They came to our class and helped us to make great "Christmas Crackers". Christmas Crackers are part of the tradition of Christmas celebrations in the UK and countries like Australia and New Zeland. The Christmas Cracker is pulled between two people and when it breaks it produces sound, and the candy and small presents that contains come up. There are also people who get in a circle, cross their arms with crackers and pull together at the same time. There are many ways to enjoy the crackers.

La semana pasada hicimos un taller de Navidad con los alumnos mayores del colegio (4º ESO). Bajaron a nuestra clase y nos ayudaron a hacer unos estupendos "Crackers" de Navidad. Los Christmas Crackers son parte de la tradición  de las celebraciones de Navidad en el Reino Unido y países como Australia y Nueva Zelanda. El Christmas Cracker se coge entre dos personas que tiran de cada extremo y, cuando se rompe, produce sonido y salen los caramelos y los pequeños regalos que contiene. También hay gente que se pone en un círculo, cruzan los brazos cada uno con su cracker y tiran todos juntos al la vez. Hay muchas formas de disfrutar de los crackers. 

BERTA, THE WITCH

Last Thursday, 31st of October, Berta, the witch, visited us at school. We had a nice storytelling activity, with two stories: "Sopa de Calabaza" and  "Room on the Broom", which is a Berta's adventure. Berta told us things about witches and gave us sweets to celebrate Halloween. Children enjoyed her visit, were a bit scared, , laughed a lot ... and taught Berta a lot of things. El pasado jueves, 31 de Octubre, nos visitó Berta, la bruja. Nos contó dos cuentos: "Sopa de Calabaza" y "Room on the Broom", una de las aventuras de Berta. Berta nos contó cosas de brujas y nos dio caramelos para celebrar Halloween. Los niños difrutaron con su visita, se asustaron un poco, se rieron mucho... y le enseñaron a Berta un montón de cosas.  Aquí tenéis el video con la historia de Berta, y algunas fotos de la actividad.
