MONTHS OF THE YEAR

In a few weeks we will work on the Seasons didactic unit. By then, it is important that students know how to say (and write) the months of the year in English, to facilitate the understanding of the contents of the didactic unit. Singing this song the children are learning the months of the year, associating them to different events and special days of the year.

Dentro de unas semanas comenzaremos a trabajar la unidad didáctica sobre Las Estaciones del año. Para entonces, es importante que los alumnos sepan ya cómo se dicen (y se escriben) los meses del año en Inglés, para facilitar así la comprensión del tema. Cantando esta canción los niños están aprendiendo los meses del año, asociándolos a diferentes momentos y fechas especiales del año.

ABC SONG

These days we are reviewing the alphabet in English. While completing their tasks in class, or during the Arts and Crafts class, children sing this song, learning the alphabet and reviewing it almost without realizing it and having a lot of fun.

Estos días estamos repasando el abecedario en Inglés. Mientras completan sus tareas en clase, o en la clase de Arts and Crafts, los niños cantan esta canción, aprendiendo y repasando el abecedario casi sin darse cuenta y divirtiéndose.

ANIMALS SONGS

This week we started working on Animals didactic unit . One of the first things we have done is to differentiate wild animals and farm animals. Furthermore, we found that the onomatopoeias we use to write  animal sounds are different in Spanish and in English. With these two songs we have learned and practiced them: "Old MacDonald Had a Farm" and "Sounds of the Animals Song".

Esta semana hemos comenzado a trabajar la unidad didáctica sobre los Animales. Una de las primeras cosas que hemos hecho es diferenciar a los animales salvajes y a los animales de granja. Además, hemos descubierto que las onomatopeyas que utilizamos para escribir los sonidos que hacen animales son diferentes en Español y en Inglés. Con estas dos canciones las hemos aprendido y practicado: "Old MacDonald had a Farm", y "Sounds of the Animals Song".

ANIMALS SAYINGS

As we will start this term The Animals didactic unit, we will learn some rhymed animal sayings and chunks in English to greet us when we come to class and say goodbye when we return home. The sayings will be sticked on the both sides of the classroom door, so children can read and remember to use them. You can also download the files with the sentences. Sure it's fun for the whole family to use and practice them at home.

Aprovechando que este trimestre comenzamos la unidad didáctica de Los Animales, vamos a aprender algunas frases hechas y rimadas (relacionadas con los animales) en Inglés, para saludarnos cuando llegamos a clase y despedirnos cuando volvemos a casa. Las frases estarán pegadas a ambos lados de la puerta del aula, para que los alumnos puedan leerlas y acordarse de utilizarlas. También podéis descargaros los archivos con las frases. Seguro que es divertido para toda la familia practicarlas y ulitizarlas en casa.

LANGUAGE FOR THE CLASSROOM

This term we will speak more English in class, and one of the ways to achieve it is to learn and use short sentences phrases and everyday expressions we use in the classroom. The sentences will be sticked on the walls of the classroom so children can read and remember to use them. You can download the attached files with the sentences to colour them and practice at home.

Este trimestre vamos a hablar más en Inglés en clase, y una de las maneras de hacerlos es aprender y utilizar pequeñas frases y expresiones cotidianas que usamos en el aula. Las frases estarán pegadas en las paredes del aula para que los niños puedan leerlas y se acuerden de utilizarlas. Podéis descargaros los archivos con las frases para colorear y practicar en casa.

NUMBERS. FROM 1 TO 100

We've begun to prepare ourselves for the class, and now we begin the countdown to ... THE 100th DAY OF SCHOOL! That day is getting closer (February 13), and we'll celebrate our 100 days at "the olders' school", the 100 English words that we already know, the 100 new people we met... and that we already know to count to 100 in English. We upload on the Blog the two songs we sing in class to go over the numbers from 1 to 10. Two different rhythms and styles to count to 100.

Comenzamos a prepararnos para la vuelta a clase, y comienza la cuenta atrás para...  EL DÍA 100 DE COLEGIO!!. Cada vez falta menos, y ese día (el 13 de febrero), celebraremos que ya llevamos 100 días en el colegio "de los mayores", las 100 palabras en Inglés que nos sabemos, las 100 personas nuevas que conocemos... y que ya sabemos contar hasta 100 en Inglés. Os subimos al Blog las dos canciones que cantamos en clase para repasar los números del 1 al 10. Dos ritmos y dos estilos diferentes para contar hasta 100.
