FUNNY BONES
In second grade, we have just started the didactic units on Bones and Muscles. Children will learn about bones, their functions, their names, their place in the skeleton... and we will also have fun, of course. We upload today the first episode of "Funny Bones", funny english cartoons for children.
En 2º de primaria acabamos de empezar la unidad didáctica sobre Huesos y Músculos. Los niños y niñas aprenderán muchas cosas sobre los huesos, sus funciones, sus nombres, su lugar en el esqueleto... y también nos lo pasaremos muy bien. Hoy subimos al blog el primer capítulo de "Funny Bones", unos divertidos dibujos animados en inglés para niños.

WATER, WATER, WATER
This week we started a new topic: The water cycle. First of all, we saw the three states of matte: Solid, Liquid and Gas. We can find water in many different places... in the three possible states. We attached a great video with a great song... and the incredible story of a drop of water.
Esta semana hemos comenzado un tema nuevo: El ciclo del agua. Antes de nada hemos visto los tres posibles estados de la materia: Sólido, Líquido, y Gas. Podemos encontrar agua en muy diferentes lugares... en los tres posibles estados. Subimos al blog un estupendo video con una estupenda canción... y la increíble historia de una gota de agua.

DINOSAUR SONG
Last week we closed our project about dinosaurs. We uploaded the nice video/song we used to finish the project, and the photos with the Dinosaurs scenes children made.

THE GRUFFALO
Last week we met The Gruffalo, a special monster. The Gruffalo is also a funny story, which is helping us to review some body parts. The Gruffalo will be with us for a while. These are the links to the original picturebook (English) and to the animated film, which you can find on Youtube. It is the original version with subtitles in Spanish.
La semana pasada conocimos a El Gruffalo, un monstruo muy especial. Es una historia divertida, que nos está ayudando a recordar algunas partes del cuerpo. El Gruffalo va a acompañarnos durante una temporada. Os pasamos el enlace del cuento original (Inglés) y de la película de animación, que podéis encontrar en Youtube. MY TOWN. MY CITY
We started this week the didactic unit about the town/city. During coming weeks we will work on the places parts of the town, the differences between the village and the town, the people working in the town..., and we will build our own town in the classroom. Today we uploaded on the blog the link to "My Neighbourhood" short story, and the video "City Mouse and Country Mouse".
Hemos comenzado esta semana la unidad didáctica sobre la ciudad. Durante las próximas semanas trabajaremos sobre los lugares de la ciudad, las diferencias entre un pueblo y una ciudad, las personas que trabajan en la ciudad... y contruiremos nuestra propia ciudad en el aula! Hoy subimos al blog el enlace a una pequeña historia: "My Barrio", y el cuento "Ratón de Ciudad y Ratón de Campo".

THE THREE LITTLE PIGS
This week we started working on the didactic unit about "Houses", what types of houses are, what materials they are made of, what are the names of the rooms of a house ... As a teaching resource we used the story of "The Three Little Pigs." We uploaded the video with classic Disney version (the link to the video on Youtube), and the PowerPoint we used to tell the story.

Esta semana hemos comenzado a trabajar la unidad didáctica sobre "Las Casas", qué tipos de casas hay, de qué materiales están hechas, cómo se llaman las habitaciones de una casa... Como recurso didáctico hemos utilizado el cuento de "Los tres cerditos". Subimos al blog el video con la versión clásica de Disney (el enlace del video en Youtube), y el Power Point que hemos utilizado para contar la historia.

LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD
Next week we are going to the theatre to see the play "Little Red Riding Hood" in English. Sure that all children know the story in Spanish, so we uploaded on the blog a videoa with English history. Children can watch it to become familiar with some words and expressions.
La próxima semana iremos al teatro a ver la obra "Caperucita Roja" en Inglés. Seguro que todos los niños conocen la historia en español, así que subimos al blog un video con la historia en Inglés, para que los niños se vayan familiarizando con algunas palabras y expresiones.

HOW PLANTS GROW
This week we started the didactic unit on plants. Threre are two features of the plants that make it difficult for children to perceive them as living things. An important part of their germination and initial growth occurs underground, and the time required to see their growth is usually too long for children. For this reason we have seen in class some videos that shorten that period of time, and allow us to see the germination underground.

Esta semana hemos comenzado la unidad didáctica sobre las plantas. Hay dos características de las plantas que dificultan que los niños las perciban como seres vivos. Una parte importante de su germinación y crecimiento inicial se produce bajo tierra, y en muchas ocasiones el tiempo necesario para ver su crecimiento es demasiado largo para los niños. Por este motivo en clase hemos visto algunos videos que acortan ese lapso de tiempo, y que nos permiten ver la germinación bajo tierra.
