DO YOU LIKE BROCCOLI?

This week we were working on Food topic  at First Grade. In addition, we learnt some grammatical structures to express what things-food we like and dislike. To start practicing, we learned the song "Do you like broccoli?", which we upload  to the blog so you can sing it with the children.

Esta semana hemos estado trabajando el tema La Comida en primero de Primaria. Además, hemos aprendido algunas estructuras gramaticales para expresar qué cosas-comida nos gusta y cuáles no. Para comenzar a practicar, hemos aprendido la canción "Do you like broccoli?", que subimos al blog para que podáis cantarla con los niños.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

As you know, Halloween is a celebration of British tradition, and that's why it is part of our curriculum contents, in the English area. During these days, and especially next week, we will make several classroom activities related to this topic. Como sabéis, Halloween es una fiesta de tradición anglosajona, y como tal forma parte los contenidos de nuestro curriculum en el área de Inglés. A lo largo de estos días, y sobre todo la semana que viene, realizaremos varias actividades en el aula relacionadas con este tema. Como parte de estas actividades estamos aprendiendo "Insy Winsy Spider", y estamos cantando también varias canciones de Halloween. Aquí tenéis los links a algunas de nuestras favoritas.

IF YOU'RE HAPPY AND YOU KNOW IT...

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands... this is one of the songs we sing in class. We like to sing it , do the movement of the song, and invent new gestures. Surely the kids will really like to sing with you at home this weekend.

If you're happy and you know it clap your hands... es una de las canciones que cantamos en clase. Nos gusta cantarla en, hacer los movimiento de la canción, e inventar nuevos gestos. Seguro que a los niños les gusta mucho cantarla con vosotros en casa este fin de semana.

THE HUMAN BODY. FIRST GRADE

Two week ago we started the didactic unit on the Human body. We uploaded on the blog a couple of songs we're learning in class, "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes" and "If you're happy and you know it ..." Two action songs to review some body parts, learn some instructions, and enjoy them a lot.

Hace dos semanas comenzamos la unidad didáctica sobre El Cuerpo Humano. Subimos al blog un par de canciones que estamos aprendiendo en clase, "Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes", y "If you're happy and you know it..." Son dos canciones para repasar las algunas partes del cuerpo, aprender algunas instrucciones, y pasárselo realmente bien.

MISS MARY MACK

Last week we learned the song and clapping game: Miss Mary Mack. The kids had a very good timel, learned and practiced their English, and knew a small part of the Anglo-Saxon tradition. We also uploaded on the blog  the videos of the students of 1st and 2nd grade playing and singing Miss Mary Mack.

La semana pasada aprendimos la canción y el juego de palmas: Miss Mary Mack. Los niños se lo han pasado muy bien, han practicado su Inglés, y han conocido una pequeña parte de la tradición popular anglosajona. Subimos al blog también los videos de los alumnos de 1º y 2º de primaria jugando y cantando Miss Mary Mack.

ABC's

Last week we faced a new challenge... SPELLING!!! First grade students are excited about the idea of be able to spell the vocabulary we learn... and we started to practice... always playing and having fun, of course. To review the ABC's we uploaded three different and nice videos from Sesame Street. Enjoy them!!

La semana pasada nos enfrentamos a un nuevo reto... SPELLING!!! Los alumnos de primero de primaria están muy contentos con la idea de ser capaces de deletrear en inglés el vocabulario que aprendemos... siempre de manera lúdica y divertida, por supuesto. Para repasar el abecedario hemos subido al blog tres videos diferentes y estupendos videos de Barrio Sésamo. Disfrutadlos!!

WATER, WATER, WATER

This week we started a new topic: The water cycle. First of all, we saw the three states of matte: Solid, Liquid and Gas. We can find water in many different places... in the three possible states. We attached a great video with a great song... and the incredible story of a drop of water. 

Esta semana hemos comenzado un tema nuevo: El ciclo del agua. Antes de nada hemos visto los tres posibles estados de la materia: Sólido, Líquido, y Gas. Podemos encontrar agua en muy diferentes lugares... en los tres posibles estados. Subimos al blog un estupendo video con una estupenda canción... y la increíble historia de una gota de agua.

DINOSAUR SONG

Last week we closed our project about dinosaurs. We uploaded the nice video/song we used to finish the project, and the photos with the Dinosaurs scenes children made.

La semana pasada cerramos nuestro proyecto sobre dinosaurios. Subimos al blog el bonito video/canción que utilizamos para finalizar el proyecto, y las fotos con las escenas de dinosaurios que hicieron los alumnos.

The song that we learned this week is "On, In, under, by"... simple and funny song to introduce prepositions ... Children had fun while learning ... and sure we will be very helpful to remember the mysterious English prepositions.

La canción que hemos aprendido esta semana es "On, In, under, by"... una sencilla y animada canción para introducir las preposiciones... los niños se han divertido mientras la aprendían... y seguro que nos va a resultar muy útil para recordar las misteriosas preposiciones inglesas.

FAMILY SONG

The second topic of the didactic unit of these last weeks has been The Family. This time we haven't the video of the song, but the audio file, the lyrics of the song, and the drawing of the owl family nest we use while we sing the song. Sure that children will love to sing the song at home.

 El segundo tema de la unidad didáctica de estas semanas ha sido La Familia. Esta vez no tenemos el video de la canción, pero sí el archivo de audio, la letra de la canción, y el dibujo del nido de la familia búho que utilizamos mientras cantamos la canción. Seguro que los niños les encantará cantar la canción en casa.

CHRISTMAS CAROLS

This week we uploaded the videos with the lyrics of the English Christmas Carol that children are learning  for the School Chirstimas Festival. The rest of the performance will be a surprise, but they can sing with you the songs at home to learn and review them.

BRUSH YOUR TEETH

This week in 2nd grade, we have been learning about the importance of personal hygiene for a healthy life. Small but important actions like showering, hand washing, combing, cover our mouth when we cough or sneeze ... and brush our teeth ... three times a day. Today we uploaded on the blog the two songs that we liked the most, so we can sing them at home, and remember how to brush our teeth.

Esta semana, en 2º de primaria, hemos estado aprendiendo la importancia de tener unos hábitos de higiene personal, para tener una vida saludable. Pequeñas pero importantes acciones como ducharse, lavarse las manos, peinarse, taparnos la boca cuando tosemos o estornudamos... y lavarnos los dientes... tres veces al día. Hoy subimos al blog las dos canciones que más nos han gustado, para cantarlas en casa, y acordarnos de cómo lavarnos los dientes.
